Hello

my fiancé has me on his EE account for a pay monthly sim, has done for a long time.
ive just took out my own contract with EE. Phone arrived today and I’ve set it up, however I would like to keep my number from the sim only.
What do I need to do? Do we both call up and arrange for this? Or can I do it?

any advice appreciated, because for now I am having to take 2 phones out with me haha!
thanks

Hi @Jenna25,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Sorry, it isn't possible to transfer a phone number between two pay monthly accounts.

The easiest way to do this would be to transfer the number into your name, then upgrade.

To cancel the new contract, please see How can I return a device bought within the last 14 days.

Thanks

James

Hi James,

thanks for your reply.

not even if I close down the sim only contract, to then move it to my new phone contract?
that was the plan.

thanks

Hi @Jenna25,

If you gave notice to cancel the SIM plan, the number would be lost. To keep the same number, on the same network, it needs processed as an upgrade at the point of sale.

I'm very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

James

Oh dear....never mind.

thanks for your help James 🙂

@Jenna25 : EE won't port nos between contracts. So you need to 1st port your existing no to another network's PAYG using a PAC from EE & then in reverse port it back to your new contract. This will also have the effect of cancelling your old contract.

You could alternatively "upgrade" your old contract to PAYG with 30 days notice & then ask EE to transfer the no to your new contract.

Hi!

thanks so much for your advice!

so I could set up a pay as you go sim with another network, request a pac code to move my number to the new network, then request a code from them to move back to ee on my new phone?

it sounds long winded but much easier than changing my contact number for everything!

I’ll crack on with this tomorrow

thanks again!
