Netgear Nighthawk 5G hub issues

Dear XraySpex,

Hi! you seem to have a deep understanding and experience of this tech that I hope you will be willing to share to help with a problem that is leaving me scratching my head!!

I bought a Netgear Nighthawk 5G MR5200 mobile broadband hub from eBay. It was sold "new" but it turns out it wasn't and Netgear say it isn't covered for help or warranty.

It worked fine for a few days but now has a permanent "MobileBroadband Disconnected - your data connection is disconnected" message.

I have tried all the correct APN settings and factory reset without change. In another post you mentioned that the MCC and MNC were wrong with a mobile hub acting like this and sure enough, my unit seems stuck on MNC 20 and keeps defaulting to "3 UK" for the carrier.

Please, could you tell me how these can be edited as there does not seem to be an option to change these values within the Netgear UI, either APP or browser...

MANY thanks if you can help!

David

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC => 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC => 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC => 2022: EE 80 Meg FTTC (no landline number)

Currently:

PDP roaming:IPV4

but acting the same with either the EE APN or Vodafone WAP APN.

are MCC and MNC editable?

That's all wrong for a start:

Name: EE internet
APN: everywhere
Proxy: Not Required
Port: Not Required
Username: eesecure
Password: secure
Server: Not Required
MCC: 234
MNC: 30
Authentication type: Not Required or just use the default value shown.

Okay, I’m going to put in my EE SIM and fill those details in...

Okay. So I'm now showing:

APN Name:EE internet

APN:everywhere

Authentication:none

PDP:IPv4

PDP roaming:IPv4

no other options to set...

Netgear App still showing 3 UK Not Connected as the carrier...

No Username/pwd? Seems deficient.

No, no option...

If you can't edit it, can you create a new 1 & make it default?
