My Mum just bought a new Samsung A71 (really shoudn't have done but I convinced her she needed to update from her Nokia)
She has had the account and phone about a month and has now confessed to briefly dropping it in some water (by briefly, I mean for about 5 seconds)
It won't work and she has no insurance.
What are the options????

I guess it was longer than 5 seconds for it to completely die like this.
You need to turn the phone off and stick it in some rice and leave for at least 48 hours. DO NOT attempt to turn on.
This will completely dry the phone out. It may work again after this but it isn't guaranteed.
If it doesn't work your only option is to buy a new phone without insurance as this is not covered by warranty
