My pay as you go will not activate

I brought the £10 5GB pack but it will not activate. When I call someone it says I have no credit. I have put the new sim in, but it still says I have nothing. Not sure what to do, I have never had a pay as you go before. Help plz 🥺
I was using a contract which ends the end of December, but the person who was paying for it, is not allowed contact with me, would that effect it?

What reports back when you text AL to 150?
I don't believe the contract which is still running till December would affect your new pay as you go line.
