My 200GB

Just want to see if there is an answer or solution to this thanks.

At the moment i have 200GB usage with my wifi EE router.

I like watching films at times on netflix, but there are a few 4K films now.

I have watched a couple of them, but find the 4K really eats up my allowance.

What can i do here without making it overly expensive for myself, cheers.

Yes 4K will really murder your 200gb Data Allowance, how are you watching Netflix through the Router?, Phone, Tablet, Netflix Stick, Smart TV etc, without knowing your Display size the only real way without changing your Data Plan is to stop watching in 4K and lower the Resolution down to 1080p or even 720p, this should be doable within Settings of the Devices you are using to watch Netflix, another more permanent way is to change your Netflix Account / Profile Settings to restrict or save on Bandwidth basically the same thing 720p or 1080p but the settings will be in Low, Med, High etc, you can find out how to do this within Netflix Help Guides.

As a rough quide, Data Usage through a Streaming Stick will be, for normal SD / 720p about 1Gb per Hour,

1080p / 2K around 2.5 to 3gb per Hour and UHD / 4K around and maybe over 7gb per Hour.

Thank you for getting back to me,i am watching netflix on my smart tv.

I would like to watch 4K,so i guess my question is how to find out the cost, thanks.

Is the SIM in your Router a Phone SIM (has Bundled Calls, Texts and Data) or Data Only SIM (MiFi, Tablet or Router SIM)

Hi @jockwav1 ,

I'm in the same position as yourself.

Your best options are:

  1. 200 GB Smart Plan and rely on 2 Mbps Reserve Data;
  2. EE Video Pass add-on for £8.99/mth; or
  3. Unlimited Data Pass add-on (£25/mth standard but I've been offered £10/mth, £5/mth might exist).

For this month, I've been trying 3. but have mostly been fine with 1.

Hmm,not very clear straight forward as other suppliers.

Before i moved house i was with Plusnet with an unlimited phone package for about £37 a month.

Where i am now the phoneline is rubbish we only get a half meg d/load speed as there is no fibre here.

That is the reason i joined EE for the 4G WIFI router, which works great for my internet use.

So that is what i would like is a no limited d/load,maybe i need to do a fresh search of the net to see what is out there now.🤔
