Moving to the UK - ESim

Hello,

I am planning on moving to the UK next month. I currently have an iPhone XR with an Irish physical sim card. I want to keep that sim and payment plan. But I also want to get a UK phone number and esim to make calls and use data. Can I order an esim online without an existing UK phone number? I would like to have this sorted before I move but I am not sure how to do it. My phone is unlocked and I cannot move my current Irish number to an esim as Irish carriers do not provide this currently. Being able to use the same phone for both numbers would be a great help. Any help or advice is appreciated!

To get an eSIM you will need to take out a SIM-Only contract which will get you a UK mobile no. To take a contract with EE you will need to pass a UK credit check.
