Losing Wifi connection

KimR87

My new Samsung randomly drops from my BT Wifi, at least once a day. I've tried forgetting the network, I've tried toggling Flight mode - the only thing that fixes it is resetting my Wifi box, which isnt ideal when the rest of the family are all using the internet for different things. This is the only internet connected device that suffers this problem, therefore there is no issue with my broadband supply. It will show 'Couldn't authenticate connection' and then sometimes I won't be able to even pick up the network to even attempt to connect.

Hi @KimR87

Welcome to the community.

Have you tried backing up your Samsung phone and restoring it to factory settings?

What WiFi box? Is "BT WiFi" BT Broadband or what was the BT Openzone/Fon cloud WiFi hotspot service?

@Christopher_G I haven't, as I've only had the phone, from new, for a couple of weeks. I have now tried changing IP setting from DHCP to static to see if that works. If not, I will try resetting to factory settings 🙂

@XRaySpeX It is a BT broadband hub/box (whatever the correct terminology is) 🙂
