Locked out.

Hi. I've been living in Portugal for a while but until 4 hours ago my sim is no longer working. I have the unlimited data plan but am not able to make calls or connect to mobile networks. I had to buy a Portuguese sim just to write this. The connection is very important for work related issues. I've removed the sim, restarted the phone several times. I've asked locals if their phones work and they do so it's definitely an issue with my phone. I use the galaxy S20. Please advise.

@BenShaw   I wouldn’t be surprised if EE have blocked your sim.  You can only roam for 2 months out of any 4 month period and use your allowances  in that period but EE will allow you to continue using the sim but if your running up bills EE can block the sim.  UK sims are for short stays abroad only.  If your living Portugal it’ll be best for you to get a sim from a network there.  

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

@Chris_B Thanks for the reply, yes I agree I'll need to terminate my contract which is a shame! I do a lot of traveling so will be leaving Portugal soon I'll search for a more friendly network for travelers.
