Hello EE Community,
Wondering if you can assist. I only just recently purchased a new ASUS Modem (
DSL-AX82U).
I am in the process of setting it up ( I have all the details: username, password etc).
However when I plug in the DSL cable to the modem it does not detect the connection at all.
I'm on Fibre Max 100 so I am not sure if this is not compatible with other 3rd party modems.
I have been trying to resolve it for the past 6 hours but to no avail. I simply do not understand why a connection is not detected at all.
I have updated to the latest firmware as well.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You've bought the wrong router. Fibre Max 100 is a G.Fast connection. You need a G.Fast/VDSL/ADSL Modem Router. That is not 1. I believe the only 1 ASUS do is the DSL-AC88U.
Now that you've bought the ASUS DSL-AX82U you could alternatively look out for a G.Fast Modem (only) on eBay or you could return it if you are still within the 14-day statutory cooling-off period.
