Hi all, new here and hoping this will (1) make sense, and (2) be something that can be fixed!
I have a Huawei B525s-23a 4G router that, until recently, I was running on a sim from Three. I had all my Nest cameras attached to it, among other things. I recently joined EE as I saw better speed, and got an unlimited mobile sim (as I read elsewhere on here that you can use it in a router as long as you conform to the FUP of being under 1,000Gb per month). When connecting to that router, I do get some internet (and some strong speeds) when running speed tests, however, these speed tests often take 30-60 seconds to start before returning a ping of about 23 and then showing me good speeds between 100 and 200Mbps.
That said, I go into my Nest app and all my cameras are offline. I put the Three sim back in and they all come back up; I put the EE sim back in and they’re offline. I tried to go through the pairing again of the cameras to the WIFI router and it fails out every time it comes to the WIFI testing stage.
Any idea what might be causing this, or what I could try to get around it? I may need to cancel my EE and live with my Three connection.
Many thanks in advance
Martin

So did you manage to create another APN profile if so you should have at least one or more profiles in the profile list and only one of them set to default

Yes, tried this previously.
when you create a new profile it is automatically made default (the latest one always becomes default). This happens before rebooting and continues to be the default after rebooting. I can’t even see anywhere to change the default, so it seems to do all that itself.
Created the new one with the following (case sensitive):
Profile name: EE Internet
Username: [left blank]
Password: [left blank]
APN: everywhere
Still no joy, unfortunately.

The default is normally a tick box before you save, the part you are interested in changing is the ipv settings which is lower down on the list under each profile

Sorry, definitely not got that good a router! Hopefully the new one will be better, but it could be up to a week until I find out (it’s coming from Europe and fighting its way through Brexit traffic).
This is what I currently have to play with:

What's under Network Settings?

Probably not a lot of help with this one. We have this under preferred mode:
Then we have the choice of "Auto" or "Manual" under "Mode".
I also have a Vonage line (VOIP) plugged into the same router via ethernet cable. This Vonage box and the phone line was working fine when the Three sim was in, but is not working while the EE sim is in. I go to start a call and it says "Device not registered", so I called their Tech Support to see if they had any insights. After running their diagnostics they came to the same conclusion: it appears to be online, and the Vonage device is registering an internet connection, but something seems to be blocking it from the provider's end. Same issue as the cameras, I suspect.

I would say Odds On this is an IPV6 issue for me, so that's what you need to consintrate on.
Have you not got a Mobile, preferably Android that you can set up as IPV4 within the APN, then set up as an Hotspot, ie, Router Mode and test through the Mobile with your EE SIM

Unfortunately, I only have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, and there doesn't appear to be a good way of switching from IPv6 to IPv4.
I will go through the steps though, and create a hotspot on the phone. Theoretically, it shouldn't allow me to connect the Nest cameras to it with the EE sim, but should let me connect to it when there is a Three sim in it.
It won't necessarily fix the problem but will provide a most likely cause.

Yeah the iPhones can be a bit funny on the APN settings but no harm in trying it, Android would be a better bet to prove its an IPV6 issue, which I'm confident it is.
One thing you could try on the iPhone if it's having none of it, is to set the Network Selection to 3G Only, that may or should force it down to IPV4.

As suspected, the iPhone with the Three sim in allowed the cameras to connect to it with 4G still enabled.
I put the EE sim into the iPhone and the cameras didn't connect. I then forced the iPhone into 3G-only mode and the cameras still didn't connect.
Without being able to adjust the APN settings manually to IPv4, I'm guessing I'm a bit stuck. Hopefully the new router will allow that when it arrives by Friday/Saturday (I went for the HUAWEI 5G CPE Pro2 Router, so it should be more customisable than this thing).
