As @pip11 has confirmed the chance of it being a localised issue is low, under 3%, but if it is a neighbourhood issue, you could consult BT Service Status to see if any faults are being attended to in your local area.

Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

BB issues are rarely localised but down to your own line.

Have you just joined EE BB or were you already with EE BB?

What lights are showing on the router?

What does it say after you log into the router:

  • For a BrightBox: in the Internet section on the initial Status page or
  • For a Smart Hub: on the Advanced Settings / Broadband / Internet page?

Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy. This will tell us at which stage EE have got to.

Is this for ADSL BB or Fibre? Which router, BrightBox 1 or 2 or Smart Hub?

Does the landline phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

Contrary to what @XRaySpeX  has said it cn and does happen where a cab can be affected leading to about 200-300 customers being affected or just a line card in the cab affecting 1-64. Localisation though is usually limited to a cab not a whole county. It's pretty much impossible for a whole county to be affected.

Currently there are only 30 cabs out of thousands that have an issue of one form or another.

If you enter your phone number here https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL  and post your exchange and cab number I can check on the Openreach site if there is a problem with or in your cab.

Morning Pip11,

thank you for your quick response.

My broadband seems to be back up and running this morning. To confirm this I checked the broadband checker you suggested when I woke this morning and everything is showing green 🙂

XRaySpeX 2nd update takes me to another BT checker which states that there is still a problem in my area.

I will monitor but thank you again for your help. 🙂

HA HA! It's magnitudes less than 3%, I was referring to cabinet issues being 30 Nationwide!

There may be a few more today due to the flooding over the weekend but that would be a case of MBORC.
