Huawei 4G Wifi 2 device - does it have antenna ports?

Does the Huawei 4G Wifi 2 mobile broadband device have ports for antennas? I want this device but need to be able to connect an antenna due to being in a rural location with very thick stone walls! I'd rather it be a portable device like this rather than the home wifi router which I know does have antenna ports, but I don't want something so big and I don't need the huge data packages it comes with, with the extra cost!

Thanks, Jen

Hi @jenski1

Welcome to the community. 🙂

Is it a wired antenna? Using an ethernet cable?

Looking at the device images and shop page, it seems there's only a power connection and no other ports.

Chris

Hi Chris, thanks for that. The port required for a wired antenna is a

TS9 external antenna port - there are usually 2 when they are present. The image I can see on the sales page seems to have 2 ports that look like the right ones, but I can find no confirmation of that and when I rang customer service, they could tell me for sure. Older models of the Huawei router do have ports, but I need to confirm before I order (as its a £80 one off payment which is a lot!). Just wondered if anyone here has one and can look and see if there are antenna ports on it...

Hi @jenski1.

I'll see if I can find an answer from our specialist team and get back to you.

Hopefully another user who has one can come here to confirm this too 🙂

According to this pretty thorough review there are no antenna connections..

Thats really helpful, thank you for that. I'll get my own with ports and then a data sim only package, seems best option. Thanks for you help.
