First Bill Ready Day 2

Just joined EE and was amazed to see my first bill (for a full month charges) was ready less than 12 hours after receiving the handset! Is that right?

Never been charged that quickly with any other service I've signed up with in my life lol

You pay all these mobile bills a month in advance.

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

While I figured that out I was surprised by how quick they wanted the money , I mean its even within my right to cancel period.

Everyone else just charges you more to cover the advance due when you get your first bill.

Anyway I'll be keeping my nice shiny phone but geez talk about keen lol

Hi @ratcom ,

Do you recall whether you selected a Direct Debit date near the front or the end of the month? Or whether you made no selection and the Direct Debit date automatically went to the front or end?

My feeling is that most customers want as much notice as possible before a debit is made and perhaps you are just being given warning before your Direct Debit date comes around?

@mikeliuk : Bills are always posted in good time before a DD is taken to give you sufficient notice, of 7 - 10 days, in accordance with the DD Guarantee, regardless of whether the DD is taken at the start or end of the month.

The notice wasn't the issue, it was the fact that they billed me with 12 hours of receiving the phone. Even the sales team said its normally 3 to 4 weeks

Anyway it is what it is, no real issue I guess lol
