Excessive data usage this month

I normally do not get anywhere near my data allowance but this month I have nearly used it all with 12 days to go until it renews. I do not stream tv, Netflix etc and only really browse the internet, send emails and play games on iPad. I can’t find anything that breaks down my data usage can anyone help please?

Hi @alig3

Each of your individual devices should have a data counter on them. The menu path differs between Android & iOS, but it's generally under your data & WiFi connections menu.

This function will break down data & WiFi use into each individual app or system function.

Hi and welcome to the community, @alig3

Further to @bristolian's brilliant advice, it may be worth having a look at our How Much Data am I using on EE article.

Chris

Thanks for your reply on this. It has marked my question as solved but it hasn’t been. I can only see the amount of data I have used each month on the page for the router on this site and this month it is showing 167 mb used whereas for the previous 3 months it is around 50 mb. I haven’t changed my internet habits and don’t stream tv or videos so I am still at a loss to understand.
as an aside, I checked my iPhone which is also showing high usage. I reset the data counters yesterday at 7am and by 10pm last night it was showing I had used 34mb a large proportion of which was by Spotify which I hadn’t used yesterday and was definitely closed.
Any clues anyone please….?

Sorry I don’t know how to edit my previous post but it should read gb not mb!

Morning @alig3

I have removed the solution now 🙂

Do you have any other devices connected to the WiFi device?

Did you disconnect the iPhone from the WiFi?

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

Hi Leanne thanks for that. We have 2 iPads, my iPhone and an Apple Watch connected though I often switch my iPhone to 4G to try and help the wifi speed which is very slow - that’s another matter!

Hi @alig3

Have you checked the iPad's to see if they have been connected to the WiFi and been using the data?

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.
