Data top up for someone else?

I'm wondering if I can purchase a data topup for my boyfriend who is on a sim only deal on EE.

This can't be easily done. If your boyfriend is on pay-monthly, then he will be getting a monthly bill for his plan and additional usage. Any top-ups he has that are not part of his monthly plan, will be charged in arrears on your boyfriend's next monthly bill.
It is fundamentally different to a PAYG or "pre-pay" setup where this lovely suggestion is easily done.

Are you also an EE contract holder? If so, you can as long as both are under the same MyEE family a/c, not PAYG. You need to be to be able to gift data. See Gift Your Data and Set Controls .
