Data gifting still not working.

If a device on my account runs out of data it becomes impossible to gift data to it from another device. This issue is on both the app and the website. 

 

On the app the recipient device that has run out is missing on the menu "who needs data". On the website all devices are present but I get "data gifting failed" when trying to gift to the device that has run out.

 

Does anyone have any idea when this bug will be fixed? Data gifting is a primary reason for using EE for me, and it's getting frustrating having to phone tech support to get data shifted manually.

 

Please sort it out soon. 

 

PS, I'm on contract.

Have you spoken to our technical support team about this? It could be a problem with your account that they're able to fix.

Yes, I have twice to get data manually shifted. They said it's a bug in the system.

 

It stopped working for me in mid February.

I know this is working for others, which made me think it may be a problem specific to your account.

Yeah, I'm aware the glitch isn't across the board. Still, I've tried with
two different devices, both with the app, apps have been reinstalled, two
different browsers for the website - I think it's fair to say the problem
is at EE's end.

When I next phone tech support, how do I escalate this to talk to someone
who might have an idea how to fix it? Because EE's people seem to be as
much in the dark as me.

The technical support team follow a diagnostic process to try and determine what's causing the problem, @abysmalmusings.

 

If it needs to be escalated, it will prompt them to do so.

Yes, and the tech team have been lovely, but so far the diagnostic process
seems to end in "Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's sorted out soon"
- whic doesn't fill me with confidence to be fair.

Chris, any chance you can point someone up the chain at this thread,
because I've tried to define the problem comprehensively and accurately,
and I'm sure many others would welcome a resolution to this problem,
judging from other threads on this topic.

I certainly can, @absymalmusings. We're not aware of any wider problems with data gifting through My EE though.

I have had this same issue this month...just tried to gift some data to myself as it has just run out, my details have disappeared and the support line is closed!! Twice this has happened, so annoying!

I'm having this problem too, can't gift to my daughter
