Upgraded my phone and was told it would be delivered on 18th September.  Got time off work,  van pulls up , on time,  driver from DPD gets out,I see the package in his hand, he  takes photo of my door, gets back in van, so i run out and explain its a delivery for me,  gave him my name,  he said no, someone else is delivering my parcel, he drove off, I went back into house, and had a text message from the driver saying "sorry I missed you" with the photo of my door he took. Raging. So then I get text saying dpd will attempt 2nd delivery on 19th September,  and if this fails then I need to collect from their depot. We'll, I've been in all day, its now almost 5pm and according to the track and trace the phone hasn't even left the depot.  2 days wasted.  I know its not EE fault, but there doesn't seem to be a way to contact DPD on their site. I wasn't overly fussed about upgrading in first place, so likelihood is ill just cancel it, as I've wasted 2 days, and ain't really in the mood to be messed about anymore.

I'm sorry to hear that, @Jackthelad007. It sounds really frustrating.

Let us know how you get on when you speak to DPD.

Chris

So despite text saying they would try again on Saturday, no one came. I phoned DPD who weren't that interested. They said it would be delivered today. I phoned them today to get rough idea of delivery time and they said its still lying in there Glasgow depot. Absolute farce. So looks like its not coming today either.  If I don't get it by tomorrow I'll be cancelling the upgrade as per the 14 day period and EE and DPD can sort it getting returned to sender. 3 days wasted. Not wasting another one after tomorrow

I'm sorry to hear that, @Jackthelad007

Hopefully it's there soon for you.

Chris

Cheers. As I say, they have until tomorrow. Out of curiosity,  if/when I cancel this upgrade do I need to phone you, or can I do it online

You'd just need to speak to our Upgrades team over the phone or live chat service, @Jackthelad007.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Chris

Thanks Chris. I'll phone them tomorrow morning to cancel. Fed up getting messed about now.  I'll just stick with my current phone and look at other contracts elsewhere.  Cheers again

ok, so i phoned to cancel, and a very well informed EE operator asked that I give it 24hrs and he'll speak to DPD. I agreed and the phone arrived today, the phone itself seems undamaged, i think, needs further inspection, but the box it came in wasn't sealed and had been damaged ,one of the box ends was flapping open. The paperwork was also crunched up and is almost unreadable due to the creases , package has obviously been tossed about since leaving EE. Also, there was no SIM in it, do I just take sim out my S9+  and put it in the S20+.

Not sure whether I should return for replacement or not, pretty annoyed at state the package arrived in.

Am I overreacting?

Personally I wouldn't worry about the packaging Jackthelad007.  It's purpose is to protect the contents which it sounds like it has done.  I used work in retail and deal with couriers so I know what goes on.  Your existing sim should be fine as long as it fits, also means you keep the same number.

Pleased to see you did receive the phone, let us know what you think of it.
