My sim card has recently been changed to a sim only plan but it will now no longer recognise contacts when receiving calls. Private numbers or blocked number appears instead of the person calling. (Happening with all cantacts). Txt messages are coming though fine though.

Hi @Fiona1232
What device do you have?
Changing your contract shouldn't cause this issue unless you've changed your number, recently ported over to EE or changed your device.
This is normally due to your contacts syncing with your Google/Apple account on your device.
Thanks
To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype

Hi @Fiona1232 ,
Are the contacts which are missing the small number which were stored on the phone, and the text message contacts a different/disjoint subset of the ones stored on your phone?
Or is there a confusing overlap where the same number is recognized when messaging you but not when calling you?
What happens when you try to add the missing contract to your phone? Does it suggest you add to an existing contract, complain the contract is a duplicate, or add as a new contract just fine but still refuses to show for new calls?

Did you get a new physical SIM or are you continuing to use your old SIM but with the new plan?
It may be that you had some contacts stored on the SIM & not on the phone. So if you swapped physical SIMs you would have lost these contacts.
If you look at the Settings of your Contacts app you will be able to see which contacts are stored on the Phone & which on the SIM and you will be able to move them from 1 to the other.
