So I have just booked my phone in for a warranty repair (pixel 4xl) as their is a fault with the device.
Unfortunately there is some damage to the read casing and I've been estimated £40-£200 for fixing this before the device fault. The nice advisor said they would contact me before proceeding with any repairs to make sure I'm happy to go ahead with the price but I'm convenor they will get in touch as I will have no device?
Also wondering if any has experienced this and got this service before repair?
Don't want to send the phone off and end up with a £200 Bill
Thanks!

@Kwaugh If the device has other faults then these faults will be fixed also. Even if that fault is not covered by the warranty and it will cost you. The reason they do this is because if that none warranty fault gets worse while the device is being fixed it’ll have to be fixed anyway and it’ll cost you still. You have the option to say no to it but the warranty repair request will not proceed. The repair place will not take the risk of you coming back and saying it was it wasn’t like that when you sent it in.
