Hello,

Long story short, I to reset my iPhone as it said plug into iMac/MacBook. So I set about it but I cannot get it to activate. I don’t know if its because I’m using a eSIM also?

I tried also had a go activating via mobile/twitter/facebook but nothing works.

Any ideas?

@waring192  It most certainly is because your/was using an eSim. You just wiped it from your device so now it has no network connection.  You’ll need to get a physical SIM card to activate the device.

I am running dual sim already

Physical Sim and ESIM. I cannot access the Home Screen though to disable the ESIM.

Resetting doesn’t wipe an eSIM.

Anyway, an iPhone can activate on WiFi. So there must be another reason why it’s not activating.

Hi @waring192

Thanks for coming to the community.

Could you let me know some further details on the problem you have with your iPhone?

Is this not showing signal, or can you not access any of the menus?

Speak soon 🙂

Leanne.

Well I factory reset via iTunes and the esim is still showing as the main SIM card and the physical one doesn’t show unless you press eject and it shows sim not installed.

Maybe the physical sim is problem?’

Hi @waring192

Thanks for trying this.

Do you have another SIM card you could try?

Leanne.

I don’t I’m afraid. In hospital but out on Monday so will get a new one then.

The iPhone is the 12 Pro Max and 2 days old so I don’t think it’s the phone.

it won’t let me delete the esim as line 2 says no sim.

Thanks @waring192

I hope you're OK.

If you could try another SIM card when you can and see if this resolves the issue for you?

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.
