I got a call from EE who seemed legit. I want to move my broadband from EE to BT.
They said they could do this now as was same company?
is this a scam?

Depends if they were who they say they were. Better for you to call CS yourself & ask to be moved to BT BB.
EE do offer it on their BB shop page: https://shop.ee.co.uk/broadband
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
