Broken phone no insurance

Got a contract out in may 2019 for an iPhone 6 and my fingerprint sensor has randomly stopped working it doesn’t acknowledge anything is touching it. My contract doesn’t end until may 2021 so I don’t know if it will be easier to end my contract early or have the sensor repaired??
