Brightbox 2 Time Sync Not Working Again

Hutch641

Looks like the bright box 2 router time sync is not working again.

Should be syncing to ntp.madesimpletechnology.com but the date shows as 01 Jan

None of the Time settings are configurable on the router so I'm reliant on either EE using reliable time servers or ntp.madesimpletechnology.com actually working consistently.

This messes the access time schedules that I have set on the router don't work correctly.

Anyone else seeing this issue?

Thanks

Dave

Yes, since after 02:24:59, 17 Mar. All you can do is call CS & report it.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks for the confirmation.

I've had this before and someone from CS contacted me via a private message and somehow fixed it. If I remember correctly they just wanted the serial number of the router.

Unfortunately I have had to setup a new user ID in this community as I couldn't find/remember my previous one, so can't see any history of my previous posts

Can't see why they need your router's SN. It's a server down situation that affects all Brightboxes.

What was your previous ID?

If you either:

  1. Click on the "Hutch64" in that thread, or
  2. Search in the search bar above for "Hutch64" in Members,

you will find all (2) of your previous posts.

What's stopping you continuing tp use @Hutch64 ? It still exists. Have you forgotten its pwd? You can change that.

Hi again @Hutch641

I've reported this to my colleague who I spoke to the last time you raised this to us.

Hopefully it'll be back to normal soon for you.

Thanks 🙂

Hi @Hutch641

Should be working OK now, could you give it a check for me please?

Chris

Yes, it's working for me now & has even, surprisingly, corrected all the Jan. dates in the log. Thanks.
