When I purchased my watch, I was with another network so had to switch my iPhone to a sim only deal with EE which then enabled me to get the watch. I am now out of contract and can get a better deal else where (staff discount) however I am being told the watch is only compatible on an EE contract and I could not use this with another network. Is this correct? Ideally I would keep the watch and merely change the phone, I am not looking to change both. Any advice appreciated.

The watch should work on any of the UK networks that offer the cellular feature, so it should work on those.
However your iPhone would also need to be on the same network as well. It isn't possible to have the watch on a different cellular network to the phone and vice versa.
