Apple Watch SE and unlimited phone data

Hi - I just received a birthday gift of an AppleWatch SE cellular. I want to add it to my phone plan and see its £7 per month. However, I am considering upgrading my phone to an iPhone 12 with unlimited data plan - does this plan (unlimited) cover the AppleWatch or would I still need to pay the additional monthly £7?

You would need to pay an additional £7 as the phone plan doesn’t cover the watch. The watch requires it’s own data:)

You could however connect your watch to your mobile data without the £7 cellular plan, but that requires your phone to be nearby. You wouldn’t be able to connect to the internet on your watch unless in the presence of a connection whereas if you pay for a plan for your watch you can go out without your phone. It offers more freedom to you but it is entirely your choice:)
