Hi I use a 4GEE WiFi device on an empty house 200 miles away from where I live to run a camera to keep an eye on the property
im getting fed up of having to travel 400 miles (costing me £60 in fuel and 7 hours driving) just to put data on it every month Surely there has to be a way I can just add a pack remotely

Oh not sure what happened but I’ve just been able to add a data pack on via the App
First time it’s ever done that normally it asks me to connect to the EE network, I don’t have to take a day trip 200 miles away now Yay

Is it on PAYG or contract? You say "Pack" so I presume PAYG. If so, can't you add it in your MyEE?

Yes on payg It doesn’t even use the credit I’ve got on it and will only use data add ons
is there a way to make it auto renew when credit is put on

Sounds like you've got a PAYG data SIM. They don't auto renew & can only buy data add-ons as you say.
You need to replace it with a PAYG phone SIM with an auto renewing pack. Then all you need to do is set up a recurring payment from a bank card.

Thank you for your help It’s a pain as I’m 200 mile away and never know when data is gonna run out It took many attempts to add it onto the ee app so I could top it up Seems crazy you have to connect to the device to put an add on on
luckily the house will be sold in the next 3/4 months but I’m going to try the ee mobile sim as you suggested Thank you

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance.
N.B. Whereas the data in a PAYG data SIM lasts until it is exhausted, the data on a PAYG pack & its top-up lasts 1 month.
