4GEE Mini: forgot wifi key, cannot connect to wifi

Hi there.  I have the 4GEE mini (the square one, not to be confused with the 4GEE Mini 2, which is rectangular).  I cannot connect to the wifi because I have forgotten the wifi key.  The sticker with the wifi key on it has worn off from the underside of the box so I cannot obtain the key from there.  Unfortunately as this is not a 4GEE Mini 2, the wifi key cannot be found inside the battery cover.

I could reset the device using a paperclip but I do not know what the wifi key would be after resetting so I don't want to do that until I have that info.

Any ideas or solutions?  Is it possible to obtain the wifi key by connecting a PC to the micro USB socket somehow?

Yes, connect it up by USB. Then login to your MBB router at http://192.168.1.1 with username/pwd as "admin"/"admin" or with the password found under the battery cover. Then on the WiFi Settings tab you should be able to see your WiFi password in clear & change it if you like.

Hi.  Thanks for getting back to me.  I've tried what you suggested but that URL does not open in my web browser.  Page not found.  I'm also not sure what you're referring to when you say "MBB" router.  Just in case there's any confusion, this is the device I'm referring to...

https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fshop.ee.co.uk%2Fcontent%2Fdam%2Feverythi...

I have however managed to resolve the issue and I'll leave a breakdown of the solution below for anyone having this issue in the future...

1. Connect the device to a Windows PC (not a Mac) via a USB cable (make sure you use a USB cable that is capable of sending data as some USB cables do not send data and are only for charging devices).
2. Open up Windows Explorer and you should see a new drive appear next to your existing hard drive(s).  On my PC it shows up as "CD Drive (D:) Web Connection".  Click on this and then double click on "Autorun.exe" and follow the prompts to install the Web Connection software.
3.  Once the software is installed a web browser window should open automatically with this URL: http://ee.mobilebroadband/index.html.  In the bottom right box which starts "To manage settings on your 4GEE..." click on "log in here" and then enter, in lowercase "admin" as both the username and the password.  This will give you access to the router where you can change the wifi key/password to one of your choice.

I'll add screenshots below...

Well done! That's exactly what I wanted you to do but was hoping it happened more automatically from a notification at bottom R of PC. I believe it should also work on iMac.

MBB = Mobile Broadband.

Linky don't compute! Corrected (insert space after URL before '.'):

I keep a bookmark "4GEE Web Connection" to this URL.
