4GEE Mini WiFi Router - Not Working (Again)

I have had my 4GEE mini router since December and it is used away from my home to provide a WiFi connection for two Ring security cameras at a separate location.

This combination has previously worked fine.

I switched to a monthly data plan for the WiFi router last week rather than pay as you go and since then the router will not connect to the cameras, there is no problem with the Ring cameras as they are connecting to my home WiFi fine, which I did as a test to see if it was the cameras which were faulty.

Since I have had the router, once switched on, the blue lights appear initially and then go off completely. No lights stay on, the router is always fully charged.

I was on the phone for hours last week to the EE tech team going through trouble shooters, which have not worked, even with a new sim.

I'd like to know if it is possible to get a replacement router in this case as the product is faulty and I am unable to use it?

Yes, @EssexBoyEE , the 4GEE WiFi Mini does support both 2.4 & 5 GHz bands, but not at the same time. So you have to login & select the 1 you want.

Hi @Claudia97,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Are you using a pay as you go or pay monthly plan?

Does the coverage checker show any problems in your area? (Use the check status option)

James

Hi @James_B

I have a monthly plan and it says that there is excellent coverage

Hi @Claudia97,

What does the coverage checker report if you select the 'check status' option?

James

@James_B It’s say service problem

Hi @Claudia97,

That means our network team are aware of the issue and will be working on a fix.

Please tap the 'keep me posted' button in the coverage checker so we can keep you up to date.

James

@James_B Okay thank you, it’s that why the lights are also stuck when it’s charging too because it’s normally meant to flash when charging but they all just stay blue

No problem @Claudia97

Yes, the lights should return to normal once it can reconnect to the network.

I have a mini wifi hub on pay monthly and cannot connect my ring cameras to it, is there a known problem?
