Been on a EE unlimited data sim for over a year now now issues its been fantastic and has given me speeds not possible in my location otherwise.
But recently over the past 4 days or so I have been getting very slow download speeds and very high latency + high jitter which has been causing me grief when I have been otherwise having a great time with EE's 4G.
I use a Huawei B818-263 router and this is attached to a external aerial with above the gable end of the tallest building around (were in the country side). I have tested the router on internal antennas with same speed issues (all be it worse for the smaller internals.) and on other routers which preceded that one and same issue, so to me its not a local fault with me.
To add to the above I am cabled directly into the router and have wi-fi all disabled as I didn't want the added radio noise to be any additional interference (not sure that's even a issue anymore)
The issue wasn't so bad yesterday was very bad the day before and sometimes goes away completely as if it could be a capacity issue? but its cropped up very sudden if its peak hours related 😕
I reported this from the coverage checker is there anything else I can do?

Hi @gsc89
Unfortunately, variable data speeds aren't - of themselves - a fault, but symptomatic of varying traffic load on the network sites in your area.
You've done the best thing in reporting the issue via the status checker, that will have sent a report to EE network teams for closer checks.
What sort of speeds are you getting, and are these varying much?

Speeds are pretty naff even right now and this early morning time was ok yesterday but not today.
So when its fine and has been like I said over a year of use I typically see averages of:
30 - 90 down (never usually see much below 30 like high 20's but that was pretty rare)
20 - 60 up
At the moment I am getting around
1-6 down
30 - 50 up
The down wouldn't matter so much but the ping times and jitter are really annoying. Typically over the last year pings have been great can be anything from 20 - 70 and jitters around that area, at the moment I am getting 50 - 600 ms ... and it jitters all over that range like all over it.
This makes online gaming near impossible and everyone knows thats all the internet isd used for ... 😞 jokes aside you notice it also a lot in voice comms I can be in a meeting and then I will still appear to be in the chat online and I wont hear anything for 10 seconds and then all of a sudden voices kick in mid sentence.
As I said I have been problem free for over a year so if this is normal traffic load affecting me its happened only within the last 4 days that a bunch of users in the middle of the countryside have hoped on and started sucking up all the internets.

Hi @gsc89,
30-50mbps up suggests good RF conditions, adding weight to a download congestion type theory. What is your serving site/where approximately are you?
Thanks,
Peter

Yeah starting to think its a congestion issue its been slightly better past couple days but still getting periods of instability where I haven't had in the past year of use so could be new EE users working from home or something.
I am:
xx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-x.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I plan to leave EE at some point anyway but not until Starlink is available in my area which will be 2022 so still need to use it for this year before I can drop it I reckon.
