2 sim cards with a new EE WiFi Mini?

When I bought my EE mini I was sold 2 sim cards. A 1-month card and a 24m card. Why is that? If I was told, I've since forgotten.

I'm not sure why that would be. Did you take it out in-store? If so, when was it?

 

Do you use both SIM cards?
