I got mine direct from Apple and it’s great. It’s a really nice phone, easy to use. I’m loving it! I’ve come from the iPhone Air so the camera for me is an improvement. Touch ID is fast (I’ve seen some reviews that say it’s slow but not in my experience). My only thought is whether to use a case or not. I bought a two piece one from Amazon and it was rubbish; it kept falling off. I’ve got a screen protector on it and bought a thick felted pouch but I can’t find a case that I like. A few apps are not yet configured for the Duo but I’m sure that will come with time. It’s a great phone. Enjoy when it arrives.

How much are we getting ripped off? I honestly haven’t gone into the math of it all!

EE charges an additional amount on top of the phone price if you take out a flex pay contract - it's essentially the "credit interest" price added onto the device cost

Ahhh! I don’t have flex pay. I just have 24 month combined deal, with that early upgrade option

Have to say there’s a growing number of people who are saying within hours of getting their phone they couldn’t open the device and then a cracking sound and the phone screen breaking. I sincerely hope it doesn’t happen to anyone on here or to me, but some places are claiming it can’t be fixed replaced until January. Not a good start. Seems Apple are accepting there’s an issue with build quality or something to do with the hinge and are doing straight brand new swap outs where they can. An interesting development….

My questions would be, how does this growing number stack up against units sold. The nature of technology is things can go wrong. Sometimes it’s a manufacturing issue, sometimes it’s human error. The fact that people are still able to walk into stores and pick up phones from Apple, I would doubt they would leave people with a broken phone until January.

I’d be real and say anyone who has a “your order is coming soon” will be in the expected 17 Nov shipment. The fact you’ve (and I) have had no update would suggest that the system has you at the the top of the queue just doesn’t have a phone to assign to you yet. Tuesdays and Thursdays are generally when EE get shipments, I wouldn’t hold my breath until then, but who knows. It makes me kinda annoyed that my friends are all saying “walked into Apple casually today and picked up a duo with no queue.” I’ve had 3 friends all do that and now have the product in hand. I’m kinda torn between cancelling and going to the store and buying one and waiting to see if it comes this week. Ugh…. 1st world problems. Eh?

But it also depends on your provider or how far you are from an Apple Store. Some providers stipulate like T-Mobile in America it must be sent back to them as they own the device until you’ve paid it off etc not like in the uk. Where the phone is sim free from start and your free to do as you please.

American consumer rights are different to the UK, so the point is irrelevant mate. We have the right in the UK to go direct to the manufacturer
