Hey Guys,
Just wanted to create a separate thread from the Discussion thread to specifically discuss EE Preorder tracking.
I think it's always helpful/reassuring to keep each other updated on the latest when it comes to this time of year, especially with EE's not-so-great track record on keeping customers informed about their preorders.

Although it showed in the DPD app this morning, I finally just got my texts from EE and DPD shows they've taken possession of the parcel too, for delivery tomorrow (15 PM 256gb Black) - so if you haven't had texts yet, you might not need to fret, necessarily

Agreed.. don't penalise the frontline staff because of management failures.
As proven today by somebody who dealt with my order, he went above and beyond and even sent me a screenshot to show the phone being picked and the stock levels showing red so let's remember as much as we're annoyed, they are equally annoyed at the fact we keep repeating into the business and denting their KPIs which impact their lives. Lets be real, how much does not having a new phone impact our lives? Zero.. and if you think it does, then you need to give your head a wobble.

I agree. Not the call centre staffs fault. I just don’t like being told 3 different things.

I ordered the ultra 2 watch directly from Apple and I am getting it tomorrow. It is what I am most after. I can wait for the phone really.

I do agree with this- but when some people are paying in excess of £90 a month for a contract that is "Upgrade Anytime", the fact that we couldn't upgrade due to EE's system outages, makes me angry. Not on the basis that I don't have the latest tech, but because I pay for a privilege that was not fulfilled, but any Jo Bloggs could pre-order if they were new etc. I personally was on the site at 1pm, crashed, called them, they couldn't help and called me back at 4pm, by which time they'd sold out of my colour and storage. It's not the front line staff fault but EE opened themselves up to this again as the systems crashed for the third year lol

Agree with what you're saying in principle but there has to be some recognition that staff do seem to be making things up on the spot (hence so many people being told contradicting and obviously untrue things) and that's not acceptable conduct.
I don't think anyone's saying that a new phone has such a significant impact that the world will end if they don't get it on launch day, but there is the simple matter that people are entering in to a contract on the basis they will receive a product on a specific date and many are now being left in the dark about when they can expect to receive said product..
