Hey Guys,
Just wanted to create a separate thread from the Discussion thread to specifically discuss EE Preorder tracking.
I think it's always helpful/reassuring to keep each other updated on the latest when it comes to this time of year, especially with EE's not-so-great track record on keeping customers informed about their preorders.

I explained how I was promised to receive the phone today and how I ordered within 7 minutes of the pre order starting. And then I asked what they would be doing to make up for the issue. Then they told me they’d apply a £30 credit to the account.

Before amyone does a back up transfer :
“The bug affects iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro as these phones ship with iOS 17 preinstalled. However, it may also affect anyone switching phones that are running iOS 17 and use the transfer data option.
If you encounter the bug, during the transfer of apps and data, the new iPhone will get stuck in a boot loop on the Apple logo screen.
To resolve the issue, Apple says that you need to put the device into DFU mode and restore it using a computer”

Right just got off the phone with EE
Guy said there’s been a recall of stock and why there’s a delay as there is a problem with the screens
said I’m at front of line so could come anytime they get a delivery
been given a £30 credit adding for my troubles as was told delivery today

Did you ever receive the email. I also ordered on the pre order date and have received no confirmation email or text message.

I ordered my phone within 20 minutes of them going live online, and had received a confirmation email and everything. 2 days go by and I realise the website states more than 28 days for delivery, so I hop on a live chat to ask what the estimated time actually is. I then get told my order hasn’t gone through and that I will need to order with them over the chat again. The person I’m on chat with tries to sell me several other deals that aren’t the one I originally ordered, but 3 1/2 hours later I’ve finally reordered the phone. However he says I’m unable to add AppleCare to my plan with him and have to add it after (after speaking to someone in store they tell me he should have been able to add it then). I get reassured I’ll get it on release still, and that the money that I paid upfront will not be taken twice.
Fast forward a day later, I get a cancellation email for an order and get very confused. I check my bank, and 2x the amount of my upfront payment has come out. I phone them up and they put through a refund for the other upfront payment, and are also very confused about my several orders at this point that have been reordered/cancelled left right and centre. I do still get told that it looks like I can expect it for Friday. Well… still not even received a dispatch email. On top of all this my current phone is unable to text or anything as it has a mind of its own and just keeps closing apps and pressing random buttons, so I need my new phone asap for work etc. I’m extremely disappointed but at this point there’s not much I can do but wait 🤷♀️

Bit of a half truth - no recall (issues would be identified prior to stock being sent from Apple…) but limit in stock production to do with the smaller bezels and the shell hence EE having less stock than demand.
A recall would occur when users identified an issue, since they weren’t in the hands of the general public then if you think about it that doesn’t align with a “recall of stock”. If you consider shipping costs and so on…
Not sure why people believe half the things that the CS are telling them. They aren’t employed by Apple and don’t really know anymore than most of us who can use Google. Simple fact is there is a limit of stock for various reasons (screen production issues being one of the many).

1st time ever I have not got new iPhone for launch day! Been told 28 days so not happy! What went wrong this year? Ordered 15 pm 512 natural

When I placed my order I was told it would arrive today, (received confirmation emails) when I called up I was informed it will come in the next 7 days… What a palaver…..
