Hey Guys, 

Just wanted to create a separate thread from the Discussion thread to specifically discuss EE Preorder tracking. 

I think it's always helpful/reassuring to keep each other updated on the latest when it comes to this time of year, especially with EE's not-so-great track record on keeping customers informed about their preorders.

Hi, I did post some replies at the start of this group & occasionally lurking since. They will be lost in the pages & pages now…

I have an idea, EE don’t know what stock they have. 
It seems that DPD perform the customs clearance for Apple and then allocate the handsets according to the network operator. All iPhones on any network are being sent by DPD (including the majority of Apple, except the UPS ones which I think are store stock sent directly), so it seems that they scan the details and then the IMEI etc gets sent to the network (EE, O2, GiffGaff etc) who then update their trackers. It’s why the DPD notification/SMS comes before the order tracking updates. This seems to be the same on other networks too (DPD before order tracking).

All phones come with EE paperwork that Apple clearly don't do as for people like me who are getting a sim card too that could not work as DPD nor Apple would make EE sims or be allowed to share customers details. DPD might handle the lot but it will be going to EE before it comes to us for sure.. Also if DPD did all the work EE orders would be all over the place.

Dpd do handle the dispatch and allocation for them but will still have visibility. They act as a distribution and fulfilment centre for them, after speaking to a senior manager about my complaint they confirm this. They will be given access to the re systems to print paper work and link up SIM card and phone, pack and ship.. but it will be very limited access just to do the above.

Just a heads up guys, don't update to new EE app, as always with EE each time they update it "for the better" it breaks more. Again I can't see things on the account on the app as brings up error. This has been a issue over 6 months and even the staff find it terrible! So much for the "new EE" promo with the cringe video add they just made.

Phones coming  Saturday!! Even though I requested to an EE store… it’s still being delivered to my address so had to change to Saturday delivery.
