I've done this a few times and thought it would be bad to break tradition, so wanted to create a thread for people to discuss their preorders etc as we all wait for our new iPhones.

My initial order when order was placed was confirmed in a email but after I spoke to them the 2nd time I’ve only received a text confirmation

I’ve only received a confirmation email with an xko number, and love chat have given me an 002 number, but when I put that into the tracker it says ‘this type of order  cannot be tracked’

really not sure what’s happening this year haha

As always, it is still cheaper getting the device through Apple (saves a headache too if issues arise)

iPhone 14 pro max 256GB deep purple, ordered for £64 a month (with AppleCare+), plus my £17 a month (60GB data) sim only is £2 cheaper than EE's cheapest plan, at £83 a month for 25GB data

EE sell AppleCare+ for £15.50 a month?, where as it's £10 a month with Apple!

Yeah, I know, unfortunately, Barclay's bank doesn't love me. Keep declining me every year, but I have a credit card from that bank. Don't know what's wrong with my credit history

Just as a matter of interest, who is the main beneficiary of the upfront fee - Apple or EE?  I still must pay the £330 upfront fee for the 1Tb model (£80 for the 512Gb model - such a price hike between 512Gb and 1Tb).  Looking at the various other network providers, they have smaller upfront fees for the 1Tb model (in most cases it's around £30), so I expect EE is pocketing most of that fee.

Wouldn't mind so much if Apple included USB-C with Thunderbolt speeds - would need far less internal storage as I could simply transfer the majority of stuff off the phone at decent speeds regularly!

To be fair, my Apple trade in did not go through with Barclays, had open a new credit line, rather than using my "old" 13 pro max to pay off the loan

So until I sell my 13 Pro max (with Mazuma) I'll be dual running 2 credit lines, which is a bit of a pain.

I upgraded just after 1pm had a confirmation xko number but nothing since, did say something about they needed to get intouch with me,which I find odd after years of being a customer, for a tech company I find it abhorrent that the systems they have in place just aren’t fit for purpose in a modern world,I can’t get my head around it …..

Did you have to pay any upfront fee during the initial pre-order? Because it seeps as though most who did had a 2nd email saying they need to confirm a few details before they process the order, when I personally contacted them i was told the initial £30 up front cost didn’t go through and she wanted me to make that payment again once I did I got confirmation of the order placed. So not sure if the system had a melt down and no one’s payments went through the first time lol
