I've done this a few times and thought it would be bad to break tradition, so wanted to create a thread for people to discuss their preorders etc as we all wait for our new iPhones.

EE just told me that even though I completed my order on the 9th very quickly, they didn't process it until the 11th so I'm not going to see the phone for a while.
White hot rage is an understatement. How can a company be so woefully inadequate.

I just had the same conversation with them on 150. Told me that I didn't place an order with them until the 11th...
Yet I actually ordered at 13:18 on the 9th, and they sent me an email straight away to say it is being processed. Then on the 11th I received another email to confirm my order with the subject "Confirmation: Your order's on its way" - Clearly not!
Potential 2 -3 week wait now

I have the exact same order I'm waiting on also. Not entirely sure how a company that operates by selling phones and services got this so very wrong.
Expecting a call from some form of management with full explanation as to their gross incompetence and ineptitude within 48 hours, along with any form of apology they believe is satisfactory for screwing up this hard.
I suggest other people in the same boat raise complaints.

Waiting on my iPhone 14 pro max, but it just says delivery date awaiting confirmation, I only ordered it yesterday but I’m too impatient lol! I just want it already haha

The issue with ordering online is that it isn’t a real time thing with EE. You place your order online and then it’s put in a queue for someone in a back office team to enter on the system and process which takes additional time from the point of ordering
It is far better to ring up to order during these launch periods because whilst you may have to hold for a while (I myself was on hold about 40 minutes and my order didn’t go through until just after 2pm but I got it on launch day today) but at least your orders are processed there and then

That makes sense, but is a very odd way of handling ordering processes like this in 2022.
Could you imagine if you ordered something on Amazon, only to have to wait for some team to actually order it for you? That wouldn't last long and there is a reason that they let customers actually place orders.
EE doing it this way is just plain stupid, and could be interpreted as lying when they tell you to 'do it all online' instead of phoning up, as you said the phone option seems far superior and actually processes an order.

I have had the exact same thing! Ordered within the first 15mins on 9th got email confirmation. Another email on 11th saying thanks for your order "its on its way". Spoke to EE today and they insisted that i only ordered on 11th and not 9th and this is why the delivery is delayed. Expecting up to 28 days waiting now even though i ordered on pre order date!
My partner did the same thing but on 12th and he has his today already!! Clearly not 1st come 1st served!!
