I've done this a few times and thought it would be bad to break tradition, so wanted to create a thread for people to discuss their preorders etc as we all wait for our new iPhones.

I had this when I tried an online order and in the end I called them to do the upgrade. No idea what happened.

Its not the case of "can't", its "won't". But they need to take responsibilty for their mess up.

It's can't. Once that order was cancelled the unit would have been allocated to others. To put you back in the place in the queue would mean a lot of people being pushed back. They'd rather have one angry customer than a lot of angry customers.

I hope they do resolve for you.

I previously worked in this industry (not for EE but for a major company that deals with this stuff) and it was very much a case of things being locked down. As a Senior Manager I couldn't even override things once the system was in motion.

Having said that - I do sincerely hope that they can do something for you. Sucks!

Yeah! Things happen. I might be able to upgrade DPD delivery too! Just hoping the text comes tomorrow and this wasn’t all a weird story haha

Just cancel then... I admit EE shouldn't have cancelled your order but it's happened now, you blowing your top and wanting to speak different managers is not going to make your device come any faster. They have offered you a discount and a refund for the upfront, they're not going to put you back at the front of the list as this means delaying a lot of other peoples' orders. You're not going to get the resolution you want, as someone here has already said - they would rather have one angry customer than hundreds.

I do agree with this. When dealing with many customers sometimes you have to just accept upsetting one over the many. Its better for everyone to get a 8/10 experience than one person getting 0/10 and another 10/10. That's the reality of it.
