Hi all,
I phoned EE today my Apple Watch contract is up. I have the cellular edition. I was offered £5 a month for 12 months. Unlimited data. Possibly because I’m on EE broadband.
I’ve since noticed that some of the newly launched sim only phone plans include unlimited data for watches. Which is great.
I’m wondering what this means for cellular watch plans? Are these still needed in order to use the watch as a phone away from home? Or is the unlimited data just that, nothing to do with the line I have going into my watch? Do I even need this 12 month plan now?
Thanks.

@Simon1231e Yes you’ll still need a plan for it it’s just going to get unlimited data if you take out a watch contract. You’ll need to also be on one of these new tariffs in order to have unlimited data for the watch contract.

Thanks Chris. Appreciated. I thought I might have saved a fiver a month there!…. Although to be fair, I do think a fiver is good value, particularly after what I was paying previously before going sim only.

@Chris_BEE’s own website suggests otherwise.

If you are on one of the new eligible plans you can actually get the watch data for free as long as you own the cellular watch or it is out of contract.
I believe you can add the 1m rolling cellular plan for £7 through the Watch app and this gets discounted from your bill on eligible plans (Essentials Plus and beyond). As far as i know there's a mention when adding the plan of certain EE plans including it.
