I phone battery drain

Hi, has any one experienced iPhone battery drain since joining EE ?

I was transferred over from Plusnet just over a month ago and have noticed the battery on my iPhone 6s does not last half as long as it use to, checked the battery use and condition and all looks normal with a battery condition of 90%. My wife has the same phone and has experienced the same issue. The battery drain appears to be worse over night when not in use , and no app’s running in the background.

Any ideas much appreciated

Yes, it's already looking like the battery is draining much faster on my wife's phone as well today (the first full day on EE SIM).

Having looked at the troubleshooting tool you suggested, the only thing that makes sense is the poor signal now being seen on the phone with EE. I'm not sure why this would be any different to Plusnet, but it only shows 1 or 2 bars most of the time. Is this anything to do with 5G? Our phones are only 4G capable.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Danng8,

I have the same issue the phone would last at least one and a half days previously but now since turning over to EE i am lucky to get 3/4 of a day out of it, when looking at the app ussage the total time is in the low minutes total so some thing is not quite right. My wife has the same phone and also has the same issue, coincidence i think not.

I have gone through that and also closed off some of the apps but nothing helps.

I have thought about purchasing a new phone but i am reluctant to just in case the same thing happens.

I was initially told but can't remember by who, think it may have been Apple, that when you change over provider it takes a little while for the new provider to optimise your phone settings and service and this may be the reason, however i changed over a few months now but still have the same battery drain that i never had with plusnet !!

Hi @Danng8 @Clifford11j

Do we have any reported problems in your area showing on the EE Coverage & Network Status Checker | Check your signal, if you select 'check status'?

Are you connected to WiFi Calling when at home?

Leanne.

Hi Leanne

Check Status is reporting "No known problems" in my area.

I do not use the WiFi calling feature. Might this help?

Thank you.

If you are experiencing signal problems and this is under investigation, WiFi calling should help and it would be worth seeing if the battery improves @Danng8
