Hi all, please don’t judge but I’m not very tech savvy.
I am about to buy an iPhone 16 plus from Back Market. It’s unlocked and has physical and e sim options. At the moment I have an iPhone 11 with a physical nano SIM card and I have a sim only deal with EE that costs me £13.50 a month.
My question is, when my refurbished phone comes from Back Market can I simply take the SIM card out of my iPhone 11 and put it into my new phone without contacting ee? I have been told that I need to inform ee of the change of handset but I really can’t see why this should be.
Sorry if this is a daft question.
TIA,
Vivienne G

Yes, this is exactly what you do - you can put your EE SIM into any working phone of your choice, providing it fits.
Whom or what has told you that you need to inform EE, out of interest?

It was a friend of mine who said I needed to inform ee. She said it wouldn’t work without doing that. Just wait till I see her!!
Thanks for clarifying.

Hi @Vcg
I can confirm that there's no need to contact us about a change of phone, and your phone should work when you pop the SIM card in, provided the phone is unlocked.
If you'd prefer an eSIM, just head to our Downloading and using an eSIM page for step-by-step instructions.
