Cannot send texts…

I’ve spoken to EE who couldn’t see any reason why I shouldn’t be able to send texts. They advised wiping my phone and starting over, which I did. (Couldn’t get back into my Apple account and lost all my photos & contacts. Had to start a new Apple account.) What do you know? Still can’t send texts! Can receive them. Have tried an Android phone. Same issue… Please help!!!

@StanleyBad , did you not have a back-up on your Apple account? You should still have been able to use your Apple log in that you had before, why make a new account? You just needed to use your email address and then if you cannot remember your password, just click on forgotten password, if necessary do this by logging in via the website, if you have backed up everything, then you should be able to get it all back again.

You may need to turn off Face-Time and I-message, reboot and then see if you can send text, once you know that works you can enable both again.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Good morning @StanleyBad.

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community!

Sometimes with device faults, our team will recommend setting up your handset as a brand new phone with no prior backups.

This is so we can rule out the fault being linked with anything saved in your backup, as if you keep restoring the same backup the issue won't disappear.

If you're seeing the same issue when using a different Apple ID, then this would suggest it's not the backup at fault, and you should be good to go restoring with your previous Apple ID like @Schockwave mentioned.
