I have been an ee (orange) customer for 20 years and never really had an issue with their service during this time, apart from once. I just dropped my phone an hour ago and the screen cracked. I have looked online for a repair and it looks like it costs £100 minimum! I think it's disgusting that a loyal customer should have to contemplate paying £100 to pay for an accidental mishap. There is nothing to offer loyal customers that if something happens and you have been with them for 20 years, don't worry! We really do appreciate you being a loyal customer for 20 years and we will cover the cost of your accidental. So I'm looking forward to changing my mobile provider in 13 months. They get more from the precious metals in the phone and recycling incentives from the government and should be offering a far better service.

Arguably, the flip-side of this suggestion would be that disloyal customers (whatever one of those are), get a second-tier service or pay more for what is an issue of your (albeit unintentional) making.

No network will fix your device regardless of the amount of time you’ve been with them unless you have insurance. You broke it so why should EE have to pay for that repair. Your contract is only for the calls/texts/data and the purchase of the device.
“A sense of entitlement is a personality trait based on the belief that someone deserves special treatment or recognition for something they didn't earn. In other words, people with this mindset believe that the world owes them without ever giving anything in return.”
In other words you take out insurance to cover accidental damage.

Some banks offer mobile phone insurance depending on the type of account you have. Maybe try them if you have that type.
Also it ain't EE's fault you Cracked your screen by dropping it.
