It seems my msg facilities has been taken over by Google, and now I don't get any? There is a just a Google screen?

Hi @NorthTower

Thanks for coming back to the community.

Is this when you go into your text message app?

What device are you using?

Leanne 🙂

You may have "RCS Chat" enabled - the option to disable should be under Messages > Settings > Chat settings.

Exact location may vary between Android versions.

My phone is 5033_EX  Android 8.1

Yes. When I click on msgs, there are no incoming msgs, that I know have been sent.

I tried ringing my mobile from my landline and I just get a msg saying 'calls are not being connected to this number' so does that include txt msgs as well?

Hi @NorthTower,

Are you using a pay as you go or pay monthly plan?

Has it been out of use for an extended period?

Are you in the UK or roaming?

Can you make outbound calls?

James

I am in the UK, using PAYG £6.50 credit, and I can't make outgoing calls.

Does your phone show 'EE' next to signal bars, @NorthTower. Do you hear a message when you try to make a call? What does it say?

Chris

What are signal bars ? Presumably something that should be in the symbols across the top of the screen?

I also note it no longer charges fully - could it just be a worn out battery?

There is only a flashing downward pointing triange next to the signal bars - which are quite low - and there is no EE showing
