Galaxy 23ultra and Galaxy watch ultra....any updates on esim issues?

Hello all,

Has anyone got the Galaxy watch ultra to work with the esim yet, it's been a few weeks since I opened a ticket and had tech support but I'm still in the same situation where I can send/receive sms and use data but unable to make or receive phone calls,I don't want to leave EE as I find the support very good but it's frustrating to spend so much money on a watch and jot be able to use the esim function which was one of fhe main reasons I bought the watch in the first place, if anyone has been given a working solution it would be great to hear..

I have been in touch with EE customer service since I upgraded my plan to pair a galaxy watch ultra with s23 ultra since end of August and to be fair the tech team have been a big help but unable to resolve the issue, on the galaxy watch ultra 1st esim I could call but not txt, 2nd esim I could txt but not call and tge 3rd esim same as second so I'm still in the same situation of the esim not working for calls, tech say it's been looked into as its a known issue but no date of an expected fix, I was just looking to see if anyone else has had any luck..

my Ultra has the same problem, Seems neither EE or Samsung want to be honest with what the problem is and how to fix it. I just don't accept they don't know what the problem is. I've spent so many wasted hours on this and I desperately need the function to work!

I'm starting to loose faith myself too, many phone calls and still not working, I had to upgrade my contract to get the watch data so at the moment I'm stuck in a contract that's no use, not even 1 call or txt/email witnesses a update just silence from ee, the only reason I'm still with them is they wiped my bill for this month, you would of thought they would have a thread with live updates on the issue so we don't sit here scratching our sim cards

I am sorry you have been unable to get the watch working for calls, and a support ticket has been opened to get this fully investigated for you. 

If you would like an update on the support ticket, please give us a call on 150 and the team can check this for you and let you know the latest updates.

Why do EE make this sound like individual issues, it's a huge problem, they offered me a reconditioned watch as a replacement for my new one that doesn't work away from my phone. They could at least reassure us by admitting they have a  problem and keep us informed with when a fix is expected. It will save an awful lot of wasted hours on the phone for customers.

I fully agree, I just upgraded to the S24 ultra and still as expected the same problem, when I rang CS to get my esim pushed over to new phone I mentioned to the CS agent how long I have been waiting for a solution and his reply was he thought the issue had been resolved so even now after a few months staff are still unaware of such a big fault in their product, I can not see me waiting much longer for a solution so a change in provider is on the cards, not one single message/call to say they are still working on it which means it's only me chasing updates, very poor performance for such a big network

As of 16 Dec there's been an update to the Galaxy Watch Ultra which seems to have fixed the issue. Install the update via the Wearable app, then test it with wifi off and being more than 10m away from your phone. It should hopefully work for you.

After installing the update I can make and receive calls but now text messages do not work...on my first esim I had calls and no messages second and third esim install text but no calls and after update back to calls but no text, both watch ultra and s24 ultra bought direct from Samsung
