Why is EE tv so rubbish

Unfortunately I still have the majority of my contract term to go, If I’d know how bad their service was I wouldn’t have signed up to it. Constant failed recording or missed episodes, mark a series to record and it records every episode ever screened and not the required series.
The tie up with hbo is a shambles, trying to find missed tnt recordings is a minefield. If you’re considering getting re tv don’t, just don’t it’s not worth the frustrations.

If you're able to give any examples of programmes that record too many episodes, I can ask our supplier why it's happening.

Your recordings are failing with an error I haven't seen before. I've messaged a colleague to ask if he's heard of it before, however he's off sick at the moment - I'll need to wait for his reply.

Sorry for the delay in replying, had issues logging in. Constant failed skyf1, world superbike on tnt, trying to record a series on now Atlantic, just records every single episode not the requested series and then theses fail as well.

Are you able to give specific examples please @SMR66 ?  For example, a series on Now Atlantic - name a specific episode you did expect it to record (channel, date, and time), and then one that you didn't expect to be included (channel, date, and time).

Totally agree. I’ve just come from a really old Sky HD box and it was so much better. Recordings were so easy to find, sorted by date (with the date recorded actually visible), start playing at any time-point during the recording, delete, undelete. All seemingly simple features, but beyond the EE box (and what does “Pro” mean anyway?!). Recordings fail constantly. Had to buy a wifi extender because it couldn’t pick up a wifi signal like the sky could - nor would it work consistently wired!

As for finding things, its ridiculous! A recording of a rugby match failed (of course) last weekend, so I started watching it this morning on the HBO app. Now cannot find it anywhere to continue watching! So **bleep**ed off with this rubbish.

The Sky Stream was even worse, so I can’t even go back to that. Does anyone make a decent TV box anymore?

@Dbrew   As @DarrenDev  didn’t get any further with @SMR66  perhaps you can give the answers to his questions.  Date ? Time ? Channel ?  The more information you can provide the better.  Just saying a few things with no actual information doesn’t help to track down the problem.

You expect me to list all the failed recordings? I delete them when they fail, so its impossible. Will keep a list in future and post them here.  I remember some from last weekend - all from TNT Sports - Exeter v Saracens being one. Recording failed and cannot find replay. But in the short time I’ve been with EE there have been at least a dozen failed.

Hi @Dbrew

A few observations -

Gallagher Prem - replays  (full match) are available on HBO Max

The EETV box Pro search can be used to find them

So on the remote press the Search button  and  start typing Gallagher PREM into the search field

I suspect that after you start typing  a some   letters  you wlll see  "The Gallagher PREM" as one of the prominent suggested results . select that (The Gallagher PREM).

That will show a range of on demand results - choose the one with HBOmax  logo - it is likely to be titled "National English Championship- Rugby"

That then gives you (currently) 235 episodes (which are a mix of the Mens/Womens  games in highlights and full replay format) typically ordered according as to when the programme was first  broadcast. So if you navigate to the left  you will find the available replays - you probably will need to look at the individual tile decription to determine whether it is the highlights or the full replay (full replay are typically around 3 hour duration).

You could also  go directly into the HBO Max app - if you are struggling to find full replays of the matches - I suggest

open HBO Max , select TNT Sports ,  Navigate down to Popular Sports , Select Rugby  and their is a Replays carousel - this carousel has the most recent programmes on the lsft - so you will need to navigate to the right to find the replay of the match you want to view. Note that the carousel includes replays of highlight programmes as well os full match replays.

Some Gallagher Prem games are also covered by ITV so would be available via the ITVX player.

Next observation

Your recording failures - Given that TNT Sports did not decide which  matches from the final week of the regular  Prem season  would be broadcast on which of their regular linear channels until later than normal - a reasonable approach as all games were scheduled by the league  at the same time - and the relevance of each game would not be known until after the previous weeks fixtures had concluded. A possible cause could be a change/inconsistency with the schedules or the supporting metadata.. That has occurred in the past. It may also depend on whether you set series recording or were seeking to record single  match.

Next Observation ..... continue watching is available within the HBO app itself ...

Continue Watching  (HBO Max app)

Continue Watching automatically includes shows and movies you didn't finish watching, as well as the next episode in a series that you're watching. This way you can easily return to where you stopped watching.

Note Titles are automatically removed from Continue Watching after 90 days.

View your Continue Watching list

In HBO Max, do either of the following:o

  • Choose the My Stuff icon
    and then Continue Watching.
  • On the Home screen, find the Continue Watching row.

Scroll through the titles and choose something to watch.
