Using my EE Netflix account with my Sony TV

I got a Netflix account included with my transfer to EE and use it with my Set Top Box Pro. I’ve just bought a new Sony OLED TV and would like to access my Netflix account on the TV due to its enhanced picture and sound quality. Can I do this using my EE Netflix account and, if so, how do I find my Netflix login details?

Hey there @Hornsealad.

Welcome to the Community 😊

When you take Netflix through EE, you're not required to use this on just your EE device.

Depending on the level of subscription you have, you can select which device(s) you want to use this with.

In my case I have it as a mobile Inclusive add-on, and watch direct from my Smart TV.

Thanks very much for your welcome and suggestion Peter. Sadly, those links didn't fit my circumstance and, having spoken to EE Help, it appears that I can't use the EE included Netflix app on my Set Top box on my Sony TV- I suspect that  it's because  I haven't got the mobile inclusive add-on that you have. (Strangely though, the agent didn't offer this as a solution when I spoke to him.

This does seem odd @Hornsealad, as the Standard package with ads that we offer does allow you to use Netflix on 2 devices, so I'd recommend getting back in touch with the team to query this further, as they should be able to get to the bottom of this, or flag the issue you're having if not.

Rach

@Hornsealad all Netflix subscriptions can be used on other devices - regardless of type.  Your subscription is "Standard with ads", which means that the other device must be new enough to support the latest Netflix platform (for ad insertion), but as you say the Sony TV is new, this won't be an issue for you either.

If this still isn't sorted for you then:

  • Launch the Netflix app on your TV Box
  • Select the icon in the top left corner of the screen
  • Select Get Help
  • Select "Member" on the left hand side.

It'll show you here what email address your account is currently associated with.

If this is your email address, then simply request a password reset from the Netflix web site or app on a different device. You can then use this password to log in on your Sony TV (your TV Box will remain logged in, as it doesn't need a password).

If this isn't an email address you recognise then email us at eetvsupport@ee.co.uk with your account number, and we can reset this for you, to allow you to move it to an email address of your choice.

Success, thank you very much for your help DarrenDev!
