Pairing a mobile device with your TV Box Pro allows you to remotely set/cancel/delete recordings. It cannot be used as a remote control.
Simply install the EE TV app from the Play Store or App Store, and then pair it by selecting My TV, Settings, then Pair.

Is there any phone app that can be set up to control the TV Box Pro? I am used to Firesticks and Rokus where my phone obviates the needs to have a sofa full of special purpose remotes. Nor do I need to worry about losing the remote or the dog (I don't have a dog, I do have grandchildren) eating it.

Nothing of what you describe, but you could get a One For All or similar remote, and teach it each of the devices you want to control, get the remote count back down to one again.

Thanks. I have a Xiaomi 14 Ultra with IR blaster and there is a universal Mi remote app. So if I could work out the sort of box it is there is a good chance of using the IR. "if" is of course the operative word. I shall experiment .
Or is the EE remote Bluetooth? There is some confusion in what I read.
If you have a one -for-all did it give any clues what the EE box is?

The Box Pro responds both to Bluetooth commands from its paired remote and to traditional IR commands from any earlier YouView remote or universal remote set up as one. Even after the Box has been Bluetooth-paired.
The Box Pro remote also continues to send IR commands to the TV it is set up for, alongside the Bluetooth commands it sends to the Box Pro.
My One For All hasn’t got the capability to run through its entire repertoire when confronted with a new target device, and even if it did, it has no capability to tell me what the device it has found is. Though there may be cleverer remotes that can do this.
However, I can just look up YouView under PVRs on its crib sheet and find an IR code that will work any YouView box from the T1000 right through to the Box Pro; even a Box Pro already paired with its Bluetooth remote.
Is there a crib sheet for the Mi app, or some similar resource, where you can get a code for YouView?

Super response - thanks. The Mi Remote app offers YouView so I'll try it when I am near the Box Pro.

You are a complete star! Mi Remote works with the YouView profile.
Thank you for the suggestion.
