TV keeps turning on in the middle of the night

Just joined EE from BT and have been woken by the TV turning itself on in the early hours. It is very annoying. We leave the tv on mute now, but occasionally forget…

Reading previous conversations, I am not alone. I have switched to Always on in the stand by selections today and hope that will resolve things. I read that this uses more energy though…

Adding to the forum so that my problem is noted. Perhaps this issue is not rare, as indicated by EE replies to previous posts on this topic.

I can imagine it's frustrating and startling when your TV is switching on, especially if it's in the early hours.

That's certainly the best advice to follow, if you switch on the always on mode of the TV box, the issue should subside.

I suspect the problem is boxes waking up in the middle of the night to phone home and see if there's a software update or just to chat about its day. My Apple TV has a habit of causing my TV to turn on and I think someone's in my living toom.
