TV Box Pro switching on overnight

Our EE TV Box Pro is only a few months old, but has started switching itself on in the middle of the night (between 2 and 4 o'clock), which then switches the TV on and wakes us up.  If I could find a power management setting so that it doesn't switch on the TV, I could live with that, but there doesn't appear to be such a setting in the EE box menu. Has anyone else seen similar behaviour and have any suggestions please?

This is unfortunately a known issue affecting a small number of customers. The only workaround available at the moment is to change your power settings - they'll currently be set to "Smart", but if you change it to "Always on", it'll stop it waking during the night.  You can still put it into standby yourself - this setting will just stop it going into deep sleep.

Thanks Darren. Do you know if there are any plans to investigate a possible fix please? If the development team didn't have any leads on why this happens, is there scope for adding a setting to not turn the TV on with the box?

That setting exists on your TV - you need to turn off HDMI CEC.  It's known by many different names, including:

TV BrandHDMI CEC Brand Name
SamsungAnynet+
LGSimpLink
SonyBRAVIA Sync (or BRAVIA Link)
PanasonicVIERA Link (or HDAVI Control / EZ Sync)
PhilipsEasyLink
TCLT-Link (or HDMI CEC)
HisenseHDMI-CEC (sometimes found under "System" or "Inputs")
VizioCEC
ToshibaRegza Link (or CE-Link)
SharpAquos Link
Roku TV (Various)1-Touch Play
Amazon Fire TV EditionHDMI CEC Device Control

Thanks Darren. Given we only have three devices into the TV, I can live with that option of turning it all off on the TV side, but it still feels to me that it should be possible for the EE box to not send that "wake up" signal to the TV. The Nintendo Switch "Match TV Power State" setting currently works to switch the TV on when we power t he console on via Joy-Con (and I've confirmed the TV stays off if I toggle the Switch setting), so I'd have thought the EE box could implement the same configuration

It could, but it would be wasted effort - time better spent on fixing the bug.
