My original contract with BT has just been renewed with EE and I was informed that there would be no difference to my services.
I received my new tv box which was a mini and subsequently set it up only to find that I can’t record with it.
Having spoken with CS I am being asked to pay a one off fee for a TV Box Pro which was never mentioned before. Is this normal?

Two observations - first potentially TV contracts can include one off charges for P&P(delivery) of a new TV box and a seperate activation charge. One or both of these charges are often but not always waived.
Secondly and perhps most relevant why was a mini box sent in the first place - whilst that is one of the three possible options for the EETV service the most logical options for a customer to choose would be a EETV Box Pro if recordable box with aerial or IP mode options or the EETV Apple TV box if streaming only and no recording wanted.A EETV Box Mini would normal be supplied for extra boxes rather than as a main box unless specically requested by the customer.
There seem to be other reports of mini boxes being sent out as the principle box .
I recall from other threads on this forum that BT customers migrating their service including EETV would be provided with a Box Pro or an Apple TV box if they were not already in possession of a Box Pro.

Thanks for your reply.
I have renewed my contract for WiFi and TV and was informed that my services would stay the same. I was told I would need a new box and this would be sent to me which it was (albeit a mini).
I don’t understand why they wouldn’t send the main box to start with and subsequently tell me I need to pay for it.
I will call CS again tomorrow.
